BC Cricket confirm new fultime Cricket Coach for 2017/18 season...

We are delighted to announce the appiontment of our new fultime Coach - Cameron Grieve

During the winter months the BC Cricket Committee carried out a review of our Coaching set-up and as a result we embarked on a plan to equip the Cricket Club with a single fultime Coach who could offer not only sound skills in coaching all aspects of our game but could also offer skills required to manage children from Primary age group right through to our College students.

We also wanted to increase the amount of time we could spend Coaching our teams to provide the best possible quality Coaching in the Bay of Plenty.

We are very excited with the appiontment of Cameron, some of you in the BC College community may already know Cameron through Coaching at BC Football. Cameron comes with a lot of experience Coaching students having been with the Football Club now for two seasons and also from his Coaching experience back in his home Country - Ireland, where he was both a Coach in Cricket & Football.

Cameron is also a fully qualified Teacher (in Ireland) so has the necessary skills required to deal with students from all age groups.

Some of Cameron's achievments include:

  • Represented and captained both Northern Cricket Union and Ireland in cricket at U15, U17 & U19 levels.
  • Awarded Elite Athlete entry status for Cricket into University in 2010.
  • Qualified Cricket Ireland Level 1 Coach.
  • Achieved a Diploma in Professional Practice (DPP) following his placement teaching year during University.

We would like to welcome Cameron to our Cricket Club and we look forward to a great season ahead with input in the Coaching arena.
